- lately, it’s definitely been atlus. i’m committed to playing all the etrian odyssey games in a row and i’ve been buying any SMT games that i can afford. throughout most of my life, though, i’ve been faithful to nintendo. like i straightup thought the gamecube was horrendous, and i still only had eyes for the wii when it first came out. i never really understood why when i’d probably end up more of a sony person given the same amount of exposure.

4: Worst game you’ve ever played?

- honestly, i’m drawing a blank, but for now i’d have to say shadow the hedgehog, especially for the PS2. it’s just…. so objectively bad.

5: A popular series/game you just can’t get into no matter how much you try?

- either dragon quest or disgaea. i wanted to like disgaea but it just seemed like a grindfest, and i tried one of the dqs on the ds and got bored. and i was sad since i really wanted to find a new JRPG series to enjoy! oh, and metal gear solid counts too i guess, but i haven’t given it a fair shot since i’ve only played mgs3 and done horrendously at it.

29: Which is more important, gameplay or story?

- the eternal question. for me, when it comes to what games i have fun with the most, definitely gameplay. VVVVVV’s one of my favorite examples of this. and i’m more likely to replay a game with great gameplay but little to no story a lot more than a story heavy game. But! the games that resonate with me a lot more and usually top my list of favorite games are the ones that have more compelling stories/characters. i.e. donkey kong country 2 is one of my favorite platformers of all time, but i still like persona 3 more than it. sure, dkc2 is more fun and easier to sit down and play/replay, but persona 3’s made me feel more stuff, you know?

i’ve always felt awful about the times i said “man he raped you in that game” or w/e since i never really said it and hated it the first times i heard it, but when i started playing fighting games it was so common i just stopped caring and said it even though i knew it was disgusting
